At Stillinger Investigations Inc., we work hard to help you obtain the information you need in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. We begin our cases with a one-one-one consultation, and a fee of $50.00 to discuss the specifics, and to determine the needs of your individual case. Our base hourly rate for investigations is competitive in the industry.  We also have flat-rate fees for specialized equipment, such as Tech units. Like most professional service firms, we require a retainer fee to be paid in advance, based on the retainer quote determined during the consultation. We will then pull from the retainer fee for the services that we provide and the costs we incur working on your case. We will thoroughly discuss the details of your case with you during your initial consultation, we will then determine a retainer fee that is appropriate for the services you will require. Some of the factors that we use in determining the amount of the retainer include:

  • The amount of information that the client can provide in advance to starting the investigation.
  • The amount of travel involved.
  • Airline, hotel, and other costs.
  • The estimated number of hours of surveillance needed to obtain the required information.
  • The need for specialized equipment.
  • The level of administrative detail required.
  • The location. Remote areas and other unique situations often require additional investigators and/or equipment.
  • The urgency.  We will take urgent matters as long as our manpower and equipment availability allow us to do so without compromising other ongoing investigations. Rush service rates may apply.

              Infidelity, Child Custody, Insurance Fraud, and Civil investigations start at a minimum retainer fee of $1,500.00. Matters only requiring database research often start a lower amount. Criminal defense matters start at a retainer fee of $1,000 to $2,000, depending on the nature of the case. In cases where a judge has signed an order, approving the investigator fee for Public Defenders or appointed cases, we do not require an advance retainer.  We will bill at the approved hourly rate. In many cases, particularly Family Court matters, your attorney can request the court require the subject of the investigation to reimburse you for costs incurred.   • Tech Monitoring (GPS Tracking & Covert Video Surveillance): $350.00 per Week.
  • Drone Surveillance: $150.00 per Hours.
  • Home Bug Sweep *varies based on location & size of residence.
  • Vehicle Bug Sweep: $250.00 when brought to our office; Off-site sweep rates vary in price.
  • Witness Location (Database-Locate): $250.00 per Individual.
  • South Carolina Criminal Records Check: $250.00 when full name and DOB are provided.
  • South Carolina Driver’s History: $125.00 when full name and DOB are provided.
  • Process Service: $85.00 per Hour & $0.55 per Mile.
  • Reverse Phone Number Look Up: $200.00.
  • Mobile Device Examination: $750.00 Minimum fee.
